– Expansion Marks a New Era of Adventure Across British Columbia’s Coast Range and Chilcotin Mountains –
PEMBERTON, B.C. (December 16, 2025) – Whitecap Alpine Adventures is pleased to announce the acquisition of Blackcomb Helicopters’ Tourism Division, which includes Coast Range Heli-Skiing and Tyax Adventures. The acquisition marks a major milestone in Whitecap’s evolution and signals a dynamic new chapter of growth within British Columbia’s backcountry tourism and guiding landscape.
Founded by ACMG Mountain Guide Lars Andrews, Whitecap Alpine Adventures has long been known for its expertise in guided ski touring and hiking experiences based out of the historic McGillivray Pass Lodge, near Pemberton, B.C. With the addition of Coast Range Heli-Skiing and Tyax Adventures, Whitecap broadens its reach to encompass some of the most spectacular alpine and wilderness regions in the province; bringing together a shared legacy of safety, stewardship and mountain culture.
“Having spent a significant part of my life at McGillivray Pass Lodge, through my decades-long family ties, my work with Whitecap Alpine Adventures, and my career, I feel a deep connection to this landscape,” says Andrews. “It’s a connection rooted in stewardship, community, and culture, and it continues to inspire everything we do.”
Building on that foundation, Whitecap will continue operations at both Coast Range Heli-Skiing and Tyax Adventures under their existing leadership, ensuring continuity for guests and staff while maintaining the trusted experiences each brand is known for. The integration of these operations under the Whitecap umbrella reflects a shared commitment to responsible adventure travel, collaboration, and respect for the remarkable landscapes that define British Columbia’s mountain experience.
