Explore further into more challenging terrain with this fast-paced hiking trip. We will move off-trail for long distances, walking along ridge lines and bagging peaks. We will keep the movement quick by mixing power hiking, scrambling and trail running into each day. Endurance coach and elite athlete Eric Carter will work with ACMG Guide, Christine Feleki to move swiftly and safely through varied terrain, while giving you tips and tactics to improve your movement and technique.

Weather, group fitness and objectives will dictate the routes and objectives for each day. There will not be any technical climbing or mountaineering. However, expect to be challenged during this trip! We have the ability to split the groups every day so we can work to set goals that feel right for everyone.

After exploring the peaks and valleys around Whitecap each day, we’ll return to the lodge for après on the deck, the most unreal sauna you’ve ever seen, and incredible food, all in the good company of our running buddies!

Who is it for:

Those who want to up the tempo, travel fast through the alpine environment, and challenge themselves with increased vertical, more technical terrain and longer hikes.

Expectations:

  • Fast-paced hiking trip
  • Ability to walk or power hike 17km & 1500m vertically on rough terrain
  • Comfortable with moderate exposure to more challenging terrain
  • Strong off-trail walker
  • Comfortable with inclement weather

"My first 'trail venture' at Whitecap Alpine was a true getaway! The guides were knowledgeable about the surrounding area and were quick to accommodate the day plans for every ability and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of." - Christina (Trailblazer)
