It’s the best way to tick off your backcountry bucket list.

Just sign up, sit back, and let us do the work.

How it works

1. Sign up for The Hotline list by submitting our BOOK NOW form when you click 2023 availability.

2. Our ACMG Guides will watch the snowpack, weather and snow conditions of the zones in our backyard.

3. When the stars align and a specific line or zone is in prime condition, we will email the list to rally a group to do a strike mission.

4. Groups will have a max of 4 people to 1 guide. Personal objectives, fitness, and ski/ snowboard level will be considered when assembling groups to ensure all have an epic day.

5. Optional add-ons: helicopter assist, lunch, Evacuation Fund

The Fine Print

* No deposit required – pay in full to secure a spot

** In the case of unforeseen circumstances, such as weather delays, acts of Force Majeure etc., there will be no refunds for the base guiding rate. We recommend trip cancellation and medical insurance to ensure clients are covered for such events.

*** Due to the unpredictable nature of the mountains, no lines, nor conditions, are guaranteed. However, we will use our best judgment to ensure that we provide our clients with a great ski/ snowboard day.

**** If we plan to use a helicopter for access, but for an unexpected reason, the helicopter cannot fly (e.g. weather, heli emergency etc.), then clients will receive a refund for the helicopter cost, or the amount can be kept on file for a repeat attempt at the objective. The guiding fee will be non-refundable, but a plan for a great day touring the mountains will be organized.

No. However, entry into the Evacuation Fund can be purchased from Whitecap Alpine for $50 at the time of booking your trip.
Please note, that the Evacuation Fund is not insurance. Everyone should have their own travel/trip cancelation and medical coverage (BC residents: look into what MSP covers you for). Please ask your insurance provider if evacuation insurance is included as part of your plan. If not, then be prepared to cover the costs associated with getting out from the backcountry in an emergency.
For those that choose to buy-in to the Evacuation Fund, Whitecap will cover the cost of helicopter extraction to a higher level of care in case of a medical emergency (under the advice of the Medical Director). This must be purchased prior to your trip start date and will last until your trip departure date.

The hotline program is geared to targeting select lines that are classic in nature, but complicated to tick off the list. Our guides have a personal hit list and will announce when conditions are just right to ski lines they think are awesome. If you have a line or zone on your list, let us know and we can monitor conditions and give you a heads up when its go time!

We will start sending Hotline update emails from January 2022.

There will be a number of options.

  1. Sometimes can ski a backup line(s)
  2. Ski from car if the weather is preventing a heli bump
  3. Reschedule the trip.

It will most likely be a last minute email, unless certain combinations of weather, stability and snow quality line up for a longer window.

Ideally you will have a buyout, therefore you will know the other people in your group and be on the same page with your goals and abilities.
If you would like to be part of a mixed group, we ask you to pick the category that best represents your capabilities:
Cruiser
You’re an intermediate level powder skier/ border, but not super experienced in the backcountry.  You don’t feel there’s any rush to get to the top and are happy to enjoy the views, enjoy the company and enjoy your envious selection of snacks.
Keener
You feel that you’re pretty decent at shredding pow and are comfortable riding in all conditions, even on steep slopes. You would  describe your current fitness as “feeling strong” and your backcountry experience as intermediate.
Crusher
While you’re not a guide, you’re more than happy to break trail for the crew. With a solid amount of backcountry experience under your belt,  you have a few big goals and objectives that you want to achieve, but would prefer to approach them with an ACMG guide by your side.

No, this is not heli skiing. We may, or may not use a helicopter for a lift to get you higher and/ or deeper into the mountains, depending on the objective of the day.

No. If a helicopter is utilised, there will be an extra cost. This extra cost will depend on flight times . We will provide these estimates ahead of time and give you a chance to decide before you commit to the day.

Generally the group will meet the guide at Pemberton airport. However, this may change depending on where the line/ zone is located.

You can either pack your own lunch or you can add on a local packed lunch from arguably the best bakery in Pemberton, Blackbird Bakery.

At Whitecap we only work with the fully certified ACMG Ski or Mountain Guides in the winter and hiking guides in the summer. All of our guides are knowledgeable about the terrain and the snow conditions they will be taking you in. Assessing snow stability and evaluating avalanche hazard is always our first priority.
